Plastering & tiling
Most of our plastering starts as something else — a leak, a removed wall, a tenant moving out. It is the trade that makes everything else look finished.
| Job | Typical situation |
|---|---|
| Patch repair after a leak | Ceiling or wall damaged by a burst pipe, once it has dried out |
| Full re-skim | Tired or cracked walls taken back to a flat finish before decorating |
| Ceiling repairs | Cracks, sagging, or making good after electrical or plumbing work |
| Making good | After a wall comes out, a door is moved, or a socket is chased in |
| Bathroom & kitchen tiling | Full walls, splashbacks and floors |
| Void turnarounds | Repair, skim and decorate between tenancies, to a deadline |
Plaster has to be dry before it is repaired. Skim over damp and it will blow, stain through the paint, and you will pay twice. Depending on how much water got in, that is usually a few days to a couple of weeks with the heating on and the air moving.
What this means in practice: fix the leak first, let it dry, then plaster, then decorate. We sequence it that way rather than rushing a finish that fails. If you need the room usable sooner, say so and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Plastering is dusty and it needs drying time, which is awkward in an occupied property. We sheet up, work room by room where we can, and tell you realistically how long a room is out of use. For void properties we can run plastering and decorating back to back to keep the turnaround short.
Plastering is rarely the whole job. The same call covers the plumbing or electrical work that caused it, and the decorating that finishes it — one visit sequence, one invoice, rather than three contractors blaming each other for the delay.
The leak that caused the damage, stopped first.
